The Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program pairs orchestras across the country with schools in their local communities, inviting them to learn about orchestral repertoire through a hands-on music curriculum.
McNeil Canyon Elementary, Chapman School and Fireweed Academy students participated in tonight’s program. They have been utilizing study guide materials provided by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute. Students have been exploring music by participating in active music making in the classroom, learning to play the recorder, through song or with body percussion, and creating art pieces inspired by the orchestral music they have studied.
